About Me

I’ve been writing for about 40 years. I starting off just making up stories to tell my kids at bedtime, and I started writing stories to tell the kids in my classroom. I found that about two in the afternoon most kids are done working. I used to tell them stories for the last 45 minutes. 

After I sort of retired, I started teaching art in an after-school program at a local school. I had a really nice class, mostly girls with just one problem, couldn’t stop talking. I started to read to them while they were painting. It kept them quiet and I went from there. 

Now I’m up to more than twenty-five books and still going. I give one of my stories as birthday presents to my current art students and the rest I sell. I’m pictured here at the helm of my summer writing office.
